Tennessee Calling II

Jack Daniel’s have just unveiled their top 10 bartenders in the North, and  not one but FOUR of them are from our very own Liverpool. All of them were selected as part of the Tennessee Calling competition, an initiative to support up and coming bartenders in their careers and learn from the best in the industry.

One of the entrants is Toby Boyce from the pizza mecca that is Santa Maluco. Now, If you want the nitty gritty about the food you can check out my review here, but for now it is all about the bevvies.

Crossroad Blues
The bartenders were  challenged to create a cocktail which embodied the three concepts integral to Jack Daniel’s: entrepreneurialism, creativity and quality and Toby's creation certainly lives up to the challenge!

A potent mix of JD (of course), black pepper bitters, Cointreau and Pickled Cherry Apple Cider, it's a bold and punchy mix that definitely wins points on the creativity scale. The pickled cherry on the top is rolled in black pepper and spices- enough to wake up even the sleepiest of Sundays!

Three of the finalists will be selected from the top 10 and then they'll be whisked off to the home of JD in Tennessee where they will get a tour of the Distillery, followed by an opportunity to host a Tennessee Calling II event at (apparently) the world’s best bar, too.
