Sunday Lunch at the Maritime Dining Rooms

If you go down to the Liverpool Maritime Museum today you're in for a rather lovely surprise.

Of course you should take a wander around the exhibits (My favourite is 'seized' where you get to see what people are trying to smuggle in and out of the country)

& once you're done soaking up some knowledge,  take the lift up to the 4th floor events space.

Not only are there (stunning) panoramic views across the Albert Docks...

..but the top floor restaurant has just started doing 'Sunday Socials' a day where this unique space is open to the public for drinks and dinner.

The roasts are for sharing and come on an enormous platter. There's a selection of meats along with herby carrots, stuffing, wilted greens, a super thick gravy and an entire cauliflower with cheese.

Desserts are for sharing too. A slab of chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce and toffee popcorn...

..and a light and fruity meringue slathered in whipped cream, passion fruit coulis and fresh raspberries.

Lunch at The Maritime Museum was everything I like in a roast dinner: i:e they're massive but don't worry! You couldn't be in a more beautiful place to walk it all off afterwards.

Find out more about Sunday lunches on selected dates at the Maritime Dining Rooms on the website here.

This meal at The Maritime Museum was kindly gifted but as usual all thoughts and opinions are completely honest and my own!
