A Look Inside 200 Degrees Coffee

Nottingham-born roastery and coffee shop 200 Degrees have just opened their latest venue and it's right here in Liverpool.

The huge space (formerly occupied by Patisserie Valerie at The Metquarter) features a sunken mezzanine and a cool neon fire-pit along with a cosy mismatch of dark wood, blue velvet and a spattering of copper. It's pretty much my dream living room situation, aside from the odd member of the public.

Of course 200 Degrees is known primarily for it's coffee and if you try it you probably won't be all that surprised. Plus, if you like what you're drinkin', you can buy yourself a bag of freshly roasted beans to take home with you.

Coffee aside, the shop features an enormous counter of sandwiches, cakes, pastries and wraps for your perusal making this the perfect lunch spot for city centre workers or, in my case, long lazy lunches with your mum .

Mum and I tucked into a bit of a sandwich selection which all came with a light and simple cous-cous salad. Whilst they were all really good, in fact they got a 10/10 from our Val, I had my eyes on the prize in the form of the 200 Degrees cake counter.

My coffee chocolate brownie was the stickiest, squidgiest little thing I've had in ages and may have left me 3 pounds heavier but also left me with a smug smile and a rush of sugar for the rest of the afternoon.

As much as we loved the food and drink at 200 Degrees, the staff were probably our favourite part of our lunch. Friendly, helpful, couldn't do enough for us- they're all so lovely and will definitely make you feel welcome if you pop down for some lunch one day soon. Drop in for a cake and a coffee and thank me later.

My lunch at 200 Degrees was kindly gifted however as always this review is 100% honest and all opinions, thoughts are photographs are completely my own!
