Valentine's Day at Jacks (AD)

It's that time of the year again to get on board with the PDA, the TLC and any other affectionate acronyms you can think of. I am, of course, talking about Valentine's Day and the good people at Jacks Supermarket challenged me to pick up something special for my other half during my essential shop this week.

They're doing a dine-at-home meal that includes a starter of melty camembert with baguettes for dunking, a steak main course with all the trimmings and a hot chocolate pudding for dessert for just a tenner or there's a huge range of ready meals, take-out favourites and extras if you fancy something different.

I was, of course, distracted by the baking aisle and instead picked up everything I'd need to whip up a sweet treat for myself... for my boyfriend. On the WIGIG (when it's gone it's gone) aisle, in amongst all sorts of cute gifts including rubber ducks, roses, mugs, I spotted a heart-shaped cast iron brownie pan that was set to be my centrepiece, and some raspberry and apple juice went in the basket too ready for a mid-week cocktail.

I used the Crumbs and Doilies recipe for the cookies as I always do and of course, all my ingredients came straight from Jacks. Everything is great value and quality and if you've completely forgotten about this weekend they'll have everything you need to woo someone special and you'll be able to pick it all up safely whilst your picking up the rest of your shopping!
